Is technology making our lives simpler? Is technology driving us nearer to real experience? Is the world becoming a more beautiful place, thanks to techonology? As far back as the 1930’s , the English writer George Orwell already said no to all three questions. In this contribuition, we are going to present the audience with the arguments Orwell used in his writings against the technological Utopia, plus an explanation of the concept “permanent opposition”, which is the object of my research.
