WORKSHOP I: Mental Health in PhD

Doing a PhD… is it dangerous? Is it possible to manage the stress during the PhD? Everyone knows that scientific career is difficult but it wouldn’t make us feel unhappy or depressed. In this workshop we’ll share experiences, information and solutions to solve problems and to face up to PhD with humor, confidence and strength, fighting against pressure, competitiveness and sadness.

WORKSHOP II: Explaining Stranger things

Is the science properly explained to non-scientific community? Are all publics ready to understand everything? Which is the problem: a borring concept, a slow speech or a sleepy audience? Maybe it only depends on how the ideas are exposed. We will explain and practice ways to spread your knowledge, addapted to different situations, with the aim of making your talks attractive.

Guillem Domènech-Gil is a PhD researcher in nanoelectronics and crystal growth at UB physics. Co-founder of Azimut and EspaiNano, non-profit organizations focused on astronomy and nanoscience divulgation.
